Students of all ages are taught by professional State certified ceramists. Students learn to paint a variety of fired ceramic shapes using many permanent colors and adding embellishing decorations. No skill or level is required. Students are invited to enjoy quality creative time creating beautiful holiday ornaments to take home.

Valentine’s Day Wine Glass Painting Party
On February 9, ArtSouth proved that painting is not only for the canvas! Under the guidance of ArtSouth artists, participants enjoyed the backdrop of the beautiful Thalatta Estate on the Bay. They created their own custom Valentine’s Day wine glasses, hand-painted by each guest. ArtSouth provided the glass and all the art materials. The guest artists provided their creativity and skills.
Guests use air dried paints on glass to decorate and customize. Some guests came alone, with friends or with their Valentine. ArtSouth supplied one wine glass, glass paints and decorations. ArtSouth artists-as-teachers trained guests with different painting techniques.

Martin Luther King Celebration
On Saturday, January 28th, from 11am-5pm at the Gibson-Bethel Community Center, ArtSouth celebrated the MLK Remix event. The day started with the South Miami MLK Unity Parade that ended at the Community Center. The event featured several artist performances such as ArtSouth dancers.
About 450 people attended MLK Remix including the mayor, vice-mayor, commissioners, and several of the local church representatives. The event was in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. All performers helped spread a positive message to the the community, inspiring the entire audience.
Holiday Creativity with ArtSouth – Dec 3
After-school children attended “The Nutcracker” ballet December 3rd at Miami Dade County Auditorium. The children attended with their dance teacher Maria Garcia. They enjoyed watching their other dance teacher Elkey Love onstage performing in The Nutcracker.
ArtSouth Hosts a Face Painting Booth
Palmetto Bay’s Unique Abilities Fair -Jonathan’s Day, a Day of Community Discovery, Saturday, December 3rd from 10 am to 1 pm at Coral Reef Park (7895 SW 152nd St, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157). Jonathan’s Day will be a day filled with food, fun, and programming to raise community awareness about children with autism and other vulnerable populations and their families.
