3rd Saturday Art Exhibition

Miami Dade County Public School’s Summer Interns from South Miami Senior High School assisted artist, Nancy Reyna in installing the July exhibit. Palmetto Bay, Mayor Cunningham, presented Nancy with a proclamation for her work. Nancy’s show was featured Saturday, July 17 at Perrine Community House Gallery in Palmetto Bay. Guests enjoyed lucious refreshments while browsing Nancy’s nature-based watercolor exhibit called, “Second Act.”

Featuring, local painter: Juan Frank Miranda’s “Mentors and Friends.” Hosting over 120 guests at Perrine Community House Palmetto Bay. Art enthusiasts enjoyed fabulous paintings and sumptuous refreshments. Join us March 19, Joe Rodriguez, “Cafecito Culture.”

Arts Behind Bars

ArtSouth’s Arts Behind Bars program is the only prison-based visual arts program taking place at Everglades Correctional Institution. ABB offers instruction by ArtSouth Chairwoman, Janis Klein-Cohen along with all supplies and materials needed to create an expressive body of artwork. Creating art, helps ECI incarcerated men communicate healthy forms of self-expression.

Arts Behind Bars Now Open

 

ArtSouth’s Arts Behind Bars program is now open (COVID free) at Everglades Correctional Institution. The program provides visual arts classes, along with all materials and supplies to inmates housed at Everglades Correctional Institution. Through the years, the ABB program has positively impacted the lives of these inmates, giving them a creative outlet.
